Some new piccies of the 1200:
Specs
We bought this little beauty as a runabout while Andrew's car is being built. It was purchased for a good price and really didn't have much wrong with it other than some minor patches of rust, mainly in the drivers side sill and around the bottoms of the panels. We decided just to strip, rustproof, fibreglass and bog over these areas and this time we promised not to get too carried away (unlike my 1600)!
Someone had really liked the cartoon character 'Taz' in the car's history because the interior was swathed in the little character. Taz front and rear seat covers, floor mats and even a Taz air freshener! Cute I guess but not quite the look I was after so they had to go, along with the plastic skull valve caps on the tyres and door snibs; actually the latter we are still arguing about (Andrew actually likes them).
The motor is stock standard at the moment though we might fit a bigger 2" exhaust and maybe a Weber later. One of the first things to be fixed were the front drum brakes - we replaced them with late-model (1978 - bigger calipers) struts and brakes from a 120Y, in the process we also got the sway bar from it and installed that in the 1200 too.
